On July 29, 2019, Ms. Kathleen Oddoux, RSLP, entered into an Undertaking and Consent Agreement, pursuant to ss. 33(6)(c) and 36(1) of the Health Professions Act. The College’s Inquiry Committee (the “Committee”) had investigated Ms. Oddoux regarding competency concerns.
Background
Ms. Oddoux is a College registrant and speech language pathologist. On September 27, 2018, the College received a complaint regarding Ms. Oddoux’s professional competence. As a result of its investigation, the Committee held concerns regarding Ms. Oddoux’s clinical competencies regarding reporting and documentation in client files.
Resolution
The Committee resolved to dispose of this complaint pursuant to ss. 33(6)(c) and 36(1) of the Health Professions Act by requiring Ms. Oddoux to undertake to certain conditions. In particular, that Ms. Oddoux undertakes to participate in two Review Sessions with a College approved supervisor.
Ms. Oddoux further undertakes to meeting the standards of practice identified in the National Speech Language Pathology Competency Profile, including Competencies 1.2(f) and (g).
This resolution is consistent with the College’s public protection mandate. It ensures College registrants are meeting their professional standards of practice, while also helping registrants to meet those standards.
