Obtaining informed client consent, and documenting that consent, is a key component of good practice. The standard for client consent has been removed from the Standard of Practice on Documentation & Records Management (SOP-PRAC-01) and is now a separate standard that is required by all registrants: Client Consent (SOP-PRAC-06) (PDF).
The Board of the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of British Columbia (the “College”) has also adopted the Ministry of Health Care Providers’ Guide to Consent to Health Care (ACPG-12) (PDF).
